The problem
Traditional fixed wireless was never built for sites like yours.
Trees, static caravans and sheer distance all work against it. Covering a large site the traditional way means more masts, an outdoor receiver and a Wi-Fi access point in every unit, and more visits to keep it all working.
More masts, more poles, more to maintain
Traditional fixed wireless uses small sectors, so a large site needs many radio locations, each with its own power, cabling and upkeep.
Every unit is its own installation
An external antenna, cabling and a separate Wi-Fi access point in each caravan or lodge, all pointed at a mast. Move the unit and someone has to come out and realign it.
Connectivity is stuck to fixed points
Put a bar in a field, a stage by the lake or a till in a food truck, and the network doesn’t follow. Staff devices end up relying on patchy public mobile.
The solution
Private 5G carries the network. Wi-Fi delivers the connection.
Small cells give the whole site blanket coverage from a standalone 5G core. Inside each location, a Wifinity unit turns that signal into ordinary Wi-Fi, so guests connect the way they always have. It connects every lodge and caravan, and whatever moves or pops up too: vehicles, bars, stages and events.
- Further, and through the trees. Private 5G gives two to three times the coverage of traditional fixed wireless and copes far better with trees, caravans and other obstacles. So each cell covers more, with fewer masts and poles to install, power and look after, and less visual impact on the site.
- One device per location, not two. Lodges, caravans, vehicles and pop-ups each get a single managed Wifinity unit, 5G in and Wi-Fi out, instead of an outdoor receiver plus a separate Wi-Fi access point, and nothing to point at a mast. The signal gets inside caravans too, so some need no external antenna at all. Move a unit and it reconnects.

What is private 5G?
A dedicated cellular network built for one organisation, rather than the public network everyone shares. It uses the same standards as consumer 5G, but the spectrum, hardware and software are dedicated to your site.
Do guests need 5G phones?
No. Guests connect over ordinary Wi-Fi. The Wifinity unit in each lodge, caravan or vehicle takes the 5G signal and broadcasts it as Wi-Fi, and outdoor units can provide Wi-Fi across open areas. Staff devices connect the same way, so any phone or tablet works.
What happens if we move a caravan or add a pop-up?
Nothing needs to change. Coverage spans the whole site, so there’s no antenna to realign and no cable to run. Wherever the unit lands, it reconnects.
Why is this possible now?
Since 2020, Ofcom’s Shared Access Licence framework has let businesses license mobile spectrum for their own sites, most significantly 400 MHz at 3.8–4.2 GHz. Well over a thousand licences have been issued. We handle the application for you.
Do we have to buy the equipment?
No. Private 5G as a Service bundles the infrastructure, software and support into an ongoing service, so there’s no large capital outlay on radios, core network or spectrum.
Is it right for every site?
It suits medium and large, outdoor-heavy sites best. Once our engineers have looked at your site, we recommend the right technology for it, and sometimes that’s a different approach.
Who looks after it once it’s running?
We do. Our UK operations team monitors the network 24×7×365, with ITIL-aligned support and field engineers for on-site fixes.
